The Registry

The registry oversees the operations  of the Magistrates Court. It is located somewhere in the Court, often close to the foyer. If you cannot find the registry, you can ask someone who works at the Court to tell you where it is.

Registry staff can assist people who come to the Court with understanding most aspects of the Court process. They can give you more information about how the Court works, help you find where your case is being heard, and help with accessing support services. The registry is also the place that most court documents must be signed and lodged (or filed), such as documents relating to bail.

The registry cannot give you any legal advice or tell you what to do in your court case.
